Mr. Pigu Interview

Mr. Pigu is the founder of TENBOX along with his right hand woman Caori, both having worked previously at Beams. They founded TENBOX as a lifestyle brand in 2017, Pigu and Caori travel the world for large parts of the year surfing, skating and generally having a good time. This energy and sort of nomadic lifestyle inspires TENBOX.

Hi Mr. Pigu! Can you tell us a bit about your background - what did you do before setting up TENBOX?

I worked at Beams for 15 years and I was a manager

I thought that this phrase “TENBOX" is very cool.'

Where did you grow up? Tell us a bit about it.

Ikebukuro.
It is a place where security is bad with gangs.

What made you want to set up TENBOX and why did you choose the name?

Reason for establishment:
I established TENBOX to become free.
(I do not want to be bound by working hours etc.)

Origin of name:
I made a mistake asking 10 bucks as 10 box in America I went for the first time in my early twenties.
I thought that this phrase “TENBOX" is very cool.
Therefore, I put big tattoos in my chest, "TENBOX".
But that was a TEN BUCKS mistake,, ha ha

LA

What are the inspirations behind TENBOX?

Local culture of LA and traveling and Tokyo.

Any future plans that you can tell us about?

TENBOX will celebrate the first anniversary in January 2018.
On that occasion there are four very big projects.
I can not talk anything now.
